Ron DeSantis is at it again, whining like a spoiled brat who didn’t get his way, and this time it’s all about weed. Florida’s governor, fresh off the dumpster fire that was his presidential campaign, is doing everything in his power to block the legalization of recreational marijuana. But this isn’t just another political battle—it’s personal. Why? Because his ex-bestie, GOP super-strategist Jeff Roe, is leading the charge to bring legal weed to the Sunshine State, and Ron’s got his panties in a twist about it.
You see, Roe wasn’t just some random guy in the DeSantis camp. This is the dude who was once by Ron’s side, trying to help him go from governor to president—spoiler alert: that didn’t work out. Now Roe is on the other team, pushing to legalize weed in a state where 66% of voters are totally down with it. And DeSantis, true to form, can’t stand the idea that his former top ally is now helping make weed happen in Florida while he’s stuck playing the role of “no-fun governor.”
DeSantis’ grudge goes beyond politics—it’s an ego war. Roe’s running the campaign to get the 60% voter approval needed for the recreational weed amendment, and DeSantis is throwing everything he’s got to block it. But here’s the problem for Ron: he’s fighting not just against Roe, but against a massive wave of public opinion. Floridians want to toke up legally, and DeSantis’ outdated, tight-ass approach isn’t winning him any fans.
But the man can’t help himself. DeSantis is so pissed off at Roe and his firm that he’s spending serious taxpayer money just to try and crush this initiative. Because, of course, when you’re a whiny little bitch, the best way to handle your issues is to take your ball and go home—and make everyone else foot the bill while you’re at it.
This whole weed thing? It’s Ron trying to flex after his presidential flameout. Roe’s team has over $100 million in the bank to push this thing forward, and DeSantis is losing his grip. But instead of taking the L like a man, he’s dragging his feet and flinging taxpayer dollars at a fight that looks doomed from the start. And it doesn’t help that Trump is out here openly supporting the marijuana initiative—because nothing says “kick a guy while he’s down” like Trump giving the thumbs-up to legal weed, just to screw with Ron a little more.
And it’s not just weed on the line for DeSantis. This guy is also battling to block an abortion rights amendment that could undo his six-week abortion ban. That’s right—he’s facing a double whammy of losing control over both women’s bodies and what people can put into their own. But instead of adjusting to the times and reading the room, Ron’s doubling down, determined to prove to everyone (mostly himself) that he’s still the guy in charge.
At the end of the day, this isn’t about weed or policy—it’s about Ron DeSantis’ fragile ego. Roe’s running the weed game, Trump’s backing it up, and DeSantis is flailing like a spoiled kid who didn’t get the lead role in the school play. And let’s face it: nobody likes a whiner, especially when it’s costing the taxpayers millions just so Ron can hold onto what little power he’s got left. So, light one up for DeSantis, because it looks like he’s about to take another L.
