A federal judge allowed part of Hesham Alkhulaqi’s lawsuit against Madison County to continue after officers allegedly let his hemp inventory pass one traffic stop, then seized it four days later. The case challenges whether police training, drug-detection dogs and roadside field tests can reliably distinguish federally legal hemp from illegal marijuana.
