Snoop Dogg’s Crypto Ball: Lost His Street Cred, Gained a Flip-Flop

–Celebrity Hypocricy–

Breaking News: Multi-millionaire rapper does what multi-millionaire rappers do—takes a check. In what has to be the least surprising sellout move in the history of hip-hop, Snoop Dogg, the same guy who once called Trump a “clown” and staged a mock execution of him in a music video, decided to cozy up to MAGA Nation and perform at Trump’s Crypto Ball. And now, gasp, people are mad.

Y’all Didn’t See This Coming?

Let’s be honest: Snoop Dogg has been telling us who he is for years. Y’all just weren’t listening. This is the same dude who went from gangster rap to a gospel album, from Crip-walking on stage to cooking lasagna with Martha Stewart, from “Fuck Trump” to literally performing at a Trump event for a room full of blockchain bros in ill-fitting suits.

Snoop isn’t a man of the people—he’s a man of the paycheck. And this isn’t even the first time he’s pulled a 180 when the money was right. Remember when he declared he was quitting weed? Yeah, that lasted about as long as a gas station hot dog before it turned out to be a marketing stunt for a smokeless fire pit. (SHITTTT!)

The Fallout? His Followers Are Dipping Faster Than His Integrity

“X” account

The crypto wasn’t the only thing crashing after this performance—Snoop’s social media took a nosedive. He’s lost over 500,000 Instagram followers and 20,000 on X (formerly Twitter) since the event, proving that, yes, even the most die-hard fans have their limits.

The comment section on his posts reads like an ex-girlfriend’s text messages at 2 AM:

  • “Damn, I had to unfollow Snoop today. He broke my heart.”
  • “Love you, Snoop, but this ain’t it. Sold out for what??”
  • “Gotta unfollow anyone that performs for Trump. Luv me some Snoop Dogg, but gotta go, bro.”

And in true celebrity fashion, Snoop’s response to the backlash was a half-baked, passive-aggressive Instagram video about ‘spreading love’ and ‘getting your life right.’ Oh, buddy. No. The people who paid $300 for your limited-edition Funko Pop while thinking you stood for something aren’t buying it.

Trump’s Pardon: The Real Reason Behind Snoop’s Sudden MAGA Makeover?

Now, let’s connect the dots: Trump granted Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, a presidential pardon in 2021. So, maybe this is just Snoop paying off an old debt in the form of a terrible decision?
If that’s the case, we get it. But let’s not pretend this was some high-minded, strategic move. This is “The check cleared, so I guess we’re cool now.”

Why Is Hip-Hop So Damn Quiet About This?

Ever notice how not a single rapper has called Snoop out? Yeah, that’s because hip-hop is one big “don’t bite the hand that feeds you” industry. Even the ones who think Snoop fumbled the bag aren’t going to say a word—because, let’s be real, they’re all one desperate festival booking away from performing for some Saudi prince.

Snoop is too big, too connected, and too profitable to get canceled by the industry. The fans, though? That’s another story.

So, What’s Next? Will Snoop Bounce Back?

Let’s put it this way: Snoop could endorse Velveeta as a medical-grade skin treatment, and people would still stream “Gin & Juice.” Will he take a hit? Yes. Will he recover? Absolutely. The outrage cycle moves fast, and people forget. Give it a month, and he’ll be back dropping a THC-infused cookbook or narrating wildlife documentaries.

The Real Question: Do You Actually Care?

At the end of the day, does this change how you feel about Snoop? Or did you already know the game? Either way, he clearly doesn’t give a shit— should you?
